1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Budget Seer is operated by Caseiro Software LLC. This policy covers the public website at budgetseer.app, account services at auth.budgetseer.app and account.budgetseer.app, and the application at dashboard.budgetseer.app.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information, such as your email address, login credentials, profile details, and subscription status.
• Financial information you enter, such as accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, goals, and projections.
• Communications, including support requests and messages you choose to send us.
• Marketing email information, if you ask to receive updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Information collected automatically

Our services receive ordinary technical information needed to operate securely, such as IP address, browser and device information, request times, and error or security logs. Our account and application services use a strictly necessary, signed session cookie that keeps you signed in and authenticates requests. If you select “remember me,” we also use an optional signed remember-me cookie. These authentication cookies are not used for analytics or advertising. Plausible Analytics does not place cookies or use local storage on the public site.

3. Privacy-friendly public-site analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand overall trends in how people use our public website. Plausible does not use cookies, browser storage, or persistent identifiers, and it does not track visitors across websites, devices, or days. We use these aggregate statistics to improve the public site.

The limited analytics data includes pages viewed, referring pages and campaign parameters, browser and operating system, device type, and approximate location. Plausible briefly processes the IP address and user-agent information included with a web request to calculate a daily visitor identifier. The identifier cannot be used to recognize a visitor on another day, and the raw IP address and full user agent are not stored. You can read more in Plausible's data policy.

4. How we use information

We use information only to:

• provide, maintain, secure, and improve Budget Seer;
• administer accounts, subscriptions, and requested financial calculations;
• respond to support requests and send service communications;
• send marketing updates you specifically requested;
• measure aggregate public-site usage without cookies or cross-site tracking; and
• meet legal obligations and protect users and the service from abuse.

We do not use private financial information to target advertising, build advertising profiles, determine eligibility for financial products, or market third-party products to you.

5. When information is disclosed

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or other companies for their independent purposes.

We disclose limited information only to service providers acting on our behalf and only as needed to deliver the service. These include infrastructure providers, Plausible for aggregate public-site analytics, Resend for email, and Stripe for payments. They may process information only to provide contracted services to us, subject to privacy and security obligations.

We may disclose information if legally required or necessary to protect our users or service. Someone you intentionally authorize, such as a household partner, can access information covered by the permission you grant.

6. Account and financial data

Your account information and financial data are private. Access is limited to you, people you intentionally authorize, and personnel and service providers who need access to operate, secure, or support Budget Seer. We do not expose account data publicly or use it as a product to sell to others.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Budget Seer receives payment status, subscription details, and transaction identifiers, but does not store your complete payment-card number.

7. Retention and security

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the service, maintain legitimate business and security records, and meet legal obligations. Marketing email addresses remain until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Plausible retains only aggregate public-site analytics and does not set analytics cookies.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can promise absolute security, but we treat financial-data privacy and security as core product requirements.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right and may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

9. Children's privacy

Budget Seer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Budget Seer changes. We will post the revision here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when appropriate.
